These Competition Rules and Terms apply to all competitions, prize draws, giveaways, and promotional activities operated by Bolt Radio and Bolt Radio (Media) Limited (“the Company”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).
By entering any competition run by Bolt Radio, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, together with any specific competition instructions or rules announced on-air, online, or via social media.
1. General Information

These Terms apply to all competitions, giveaways, and promotions organised or operated by Bolt Radio, its sponsors, partners, or any platform owned or controlled by the Company.
1.2
By entering a competition, you confirm that you accept these Terms and any additional rules or instructions relating to the competition or prize.
1.3
If your entry includes additional participants, guests, or companions, you are responsible for ensuring they are aware of and agree to these Terms.
1.4
Bolt Radio accepts no responsibility for competitions operated by third-party sponsors except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
1.5
We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant where we reasonably believe fraud, cheating, deception, or behaviour likely to damage the integrity or reputation of the competition has occurred.
1.6
Entrants must comply with all reasonable instructions provided by Bolt Radio, its staff, volunteers, presenters, or representatives.
2. Eligibility
2.1
Competitions are open to residents of Great Britain and the Channel Islands unless otherwise stated.
2.2
Employees, volunteers, directors, sponsors, agencies, immediate family members, or anyone professionally connected with the competition may not enter unless explicitly permitted.
2.3
Entrants must be aged 18 or over unless a different minimum age is stated for the specific competition. Proof of age may be requested.
3. Health and Safety
3.1
By entering a competition, you confirm that you are medically fit and able to safely participate in any related activities.
3.2
Participants are responsible for taking reasonable care of their own health and safety during any competition activity.
3.3
Bolt Radio reserves the right to remove or disqualify any participant whose behaviour may present a safety risk to themselves or others.
3.4
Any activities undertaken as part of a competition are done at the participant’s own risk.
3.5
Participants must follow all health and safety instructions issued by Bolt Radio or its representatives.
3.6
Illegal substances are strictly prohibited. Alcohol consumption may only take place where permitted and approved by competition organisers.
4. Competition Rules
4.1
Bolt Radio may disqualify any entrant who breaches these Terms or behaves in an abusive, offensive, inappropriate, or disruptive manner.
4.2
Incomplete, illegible, late, corrupted, or incorrectly submitted entries may be declared invalid.
4.3
Bolt Radio is not responsible for entries that are delayed, lost, damaged, misdirected, or not received due to technical or network issues.
4.4
All answers, judging decisions, and competition outcomes determined by Bolt Radio will be final.
4.5
No correspondence or discussion regarding competition decisions will normally be entered into.
4.6
We reserve the right to amend, suspend, postpone, or cancel a competition at any time if circumstances make this necessary.
4.7
Where a competition is cancelled after valid entries have been received, an alternative prize may be offered at our discretion.
4.8
For “Register to Play” style competitions, entrants must call or register during the specified period. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted or fails to answer within the stated timeframe, another entrant may be selected.
4.9
Prizes must usually be claimed or collected within three months of notification unless otherwise stated.
5. Entry by Text Message (SMS)
5.1
Some competitions may permit entry by SMS text message where stated on-air or online.
5.2
Entrants must use the shortcode or number provided during the competition.
5.3
Incorrect, incomplete, or misspelled text entries may not be accepted.
5.4
Text entries may be charged at a premium rate in addition to your standard network rate. Charges will vary depending on your mobile provider.
5.5
Each text message submitted will be charged individually.
6. Prize Verification and Claims
6.1
Bolt Radio reserves the right to verify the validity of any prize claim or winning entry.
6.2
If false information, fraud, or rule breaches are discovered, the prize claim may be withdrawn or cancelled.
6.3
If a prize has already been awarded before fraud is identified, Bolt Radio may require the prize to be returned or compensation to be provided.
7. Prizes
7.1
Prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternative will normally be offered.
7.2
Bolt Radio reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of equal or greater value where necessary.
7.3
We are not responsible for prizes lost, delayed, or damaged in transit or delivery.
8. Holiday and Travel Prizes
8.1
Holiday or travel prizes are subject to availability and any conditions imposed by travel providers or organisers.
8.2
Winners must travel on the dates and arrangements specified by the prize provider unless otherwise agreed.
8.3
Winners are responsible for ensuring they possess valid travel documentation, including passports, visas, insurance, and any health requirements.
8.4
Unless otherwise stated, winners must hold a valid UK passport with at least six months remaining before expiry.
8.5
Any additional costs not specifically included within the prize package remain the responsibility of the winner.
8.6
If circumstances outside our control affect travel arrangements, an alternative prize or revised arrangements may be offered.
9. Ticket Giveaways
9.1
Tickets issued as prizes remain subject to the terms and conditions of the event organiser and venue.
9.2
Bolt Radio is not responsible for event cancellations, postponements, or venue restrictions.
10. Confidentiality
10.1
Entrants and winners must not disclose confidential information relating to a competition or Bolt Radio without prior permission.
10.2
Winners may not publicly announce details of a prize before authorised by Bolt Radio.
11. Publicity
11.1
Competition winners may be asked to participate in reasonable publicity connected with the competition.
11.2
By entering a competition, you agree that Bolt Radio may use your name, voice, image, likeness, recordings, or submitted content for promotional purposes across radio, online, social media, or other marketing materials.
12. Intellectual Property
12.1
Where competitions involve photo, audio, video, or written submissions, entrants grant Bolt Radio permission to use, edit, reproduce, and broadcast that content.
12.2
Entrants confirm that submitted content does not infringe the rights of any third party.
12.3
All intellectual property rights relating to Bolt Radio competitions, branding, formats, and promotional material remain the property of Bolt Radio or its licensors.
13. Limitation of Liability
13.1
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bolt Radio shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, or disappointment arising from participation in a competition or acceptance of a prize.
13.2
Bolt Radio accepts no liability for technical failures, interruptions, network issues, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
13.3
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
14. General Terms
14.1
Participants enter competitions entirely at their own risk.
14.2
No payment will be made for participation in competitions unless specifically stated.
14.3
Online entries are submitted at the entrant’s own risk, as internet communications cannot be guaranteed as fully secure.
14.4
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
14.5
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining sections shall continue to apply.
14.6
These Terms constitute the entire agreement relating to Bolt Radio competitions unless otherwise stated.
